Caroline Keresey Price ’89 and Will Price ’89 Include Hotchkiss in Their Estate Plan to Support the School’s Unrestricted Endowment
For Caroline Keresey Price ’89’s most recent birthday, she received a beautiful gift from her husband: a video montage from her closest friends, many of whom were Hotchkiss classmates. This meaningful gift, given more than 30 years after they were on campus together, speaks to the ongoing influence of the School’s community on her life. Caroline reflects fondly on her Hotchkiss experiences, describing them as having shaped the trajectory of her education, career, and family life.
Hotchkiss gave Caroline the opportunity to discover her passion for language, education, and social action. Perhaps most notably, she met husband Will Price ’89 here as well. Her relationship with Hotchkiss began before she was even a student through her father, Tom Keresey Jr., a member of the Class of 1949. Their family tradition of attending boarding school meant she was not blind to the hard work that was ahead after her acceptance letter came.
She is now thankful that in addition to rigorous academics, Hotchkiss provided her opportunities to explore her interests and to travel. In particular, Mr. Acker recommended a trip organized by his friend Ray Keck to Segovia, Spain, to further her Spanish language acquisition. This was a life-changing experience and inspired Caroline to return to Spain to work for seven months. After attending Colorado College, she went into Latin American finance. She now volunteers teaching Spanish and translating for a Montana women’s shelter.
Caroline and Will recently included Hotchkiss in their estate plan. Their bequest is in memory of Caroline’s father, Tom Keresey, Jr. ’49, and in celebration of their marriage, their many family members who attended Hotchkiss, and the long-lasting friendships they built on campus. While their bequest will support the School’s unrestricted endowment, they trust it will help provide future students the same life-changing opportunities they found at Hotchkiss.
